BPC are one of the few private clinical providers who specialise in working within the neurodiverse and learning disabled population using a trauma informed approach. We have adapted our model to be effective for children and young people who are placed in these services. Again, we take a life-cycle approach focusing on factors that influence health trajectories over the life course. We use a multi-modal form of delivery including visual, audio, and written being conscious of the functioning range of a neurodiverse and potentially non-verbal population. Due the complexities and wide range of needs these young people have, BPC have created a diverse team; one which allows us to attend to all these needs simultaneously using a wraparound approach.

Due to the nature of learning disabilities with some children and young people having limited verbal comprehension and others being completely non-verbal, we use somatic therapy when working with them. This involves less talking and more doing. Somatic therapy allows us to focus on physical, non-verbal type interventions. Clinicians help young people identify physical sensations within their bodies, improve their breathing techniques, and overall promote better regulation. Clinicians also promote therapy using forms of movement with including rebound therapy,  EFT and EMDR to name a few.

BPC continue to use nationally recognised leading psychometrics assessments to develop education and treatment plans. Again, these are trauma informed, measure progress over time, and identify areas of need. Baseline assessments are used in combination with bespoke assessments identifiable through the individual needs of the young person.
