The diversified team allows clients to call on these specialists when required and appropriate to do so. BPC operate throughout the United Kingdom providing services to homes, schools, and families.
BPC predominately work with looked after children in residential services. Our aim is to help children, young people, and adults manage and process their unresolved traumatic experiences using evidence-based practice, encouraging active participation and rewarding progress to foster a sense of achievement / self-mastery. We work to upskill and empower the caregivers working with them using a wraparound approach supporting the residential care teams through regular consultations and bespoke clinical training tailored to the service and individual needs.
We have developed our own evidenced based model underpinned by trauma and attachment. We take a life cycle approach focusing on factors that influence health trajectories over the life course. The programme provides a scaffolding for conversations with adult caregivers within the residential setting building on the concept of increasing adult presence in children’s lives to facilitate and foster positive outcomes for children who are disconnected from their families, communities, and schools. We come away from a diagnostic way of thinking and advocate for children and young people being troubled rather than troublesome looking past their presenting behaviours to what has happened to them. BPC hold values that children and young people are at the forefront of everything we do and it is our job to help them work towards and achieve the 4 pillars which build psychological capital.
