Our Counselling Service provides specialist emotional support for children and young people. We offer a safe, consistent space where children can make sense of their experiences, explore feelings, and begin to heal from past trauma. Our counsellors are experienced in working with children who have complex emotional needs, developmental trauma, and attachment disruptions. Our counsellors work within a trauma-informed, attachment-aware, and integrative framework. We recognise that for many children, relationships are both the source of pain and the path to healing.
Children in residential care have often experienced significant loss, trauma, and instability. Without safe emotional outlets, distress can show up as aggression, withdrawal, anxiety, or self-doubt.
Counselling helps children to
Regular 1:1 sessions using play, creative expression, and talking therapy adapted to each child’s developmental level.

We offer flexible counselling input as part of your clinical package or as a standalone service. Sessions can be delivered in-person or online, depending on the child’s needs and placement structure.
